Researcher in agronomy and remote sensing, CIRAD (France) – CSE (Senegal)

I’m a physical geographer and my research combines physical and human geography, agriculture and remote sensing. More specifically my reserach focus is remote sensing applied to the monitoring of tropical agricultural systems. My research interests integrate the development of Earth-observation based methods for crop yield monitoring and forecasting of rainfed cereals at a regional scale, the link between remote sensing and crop modelling and more broadly the improvement of Early Warning Systems for food security. My regional focus is West Africa, particularly Senegal and Burkina Faso.

« Remote sensing is as much an « art » as it is « science » , where procedures, regardless of their logical structures, demand equal amount of creative thinking and adaptative problem solving skills. »
