LEROUX LOUISE

Remote Sensing scientist, expert in tropical agriculture
CIRAD (France) – CSE (Senegal)

I’m a physical geographer and my research combines physical and human geography, agriculture and remote sensing. More specifically my research focus on remote sensing applied to the monitoring of smallholder farming systems. With agroecology and food security issues as entry point, my research interests integrate vegetation monitoring and characterizing,  crop yield monitoring and forecasting, and machine learning applied to Earth Observations. My regional focus is West and East Africa, from cropping system to landscape scale.

Afficher une carte plus grande

« Remote sensing is as much an « art » as it is « science » , where procedures, regardless of their logical structures, demand equal amount of creative thinking and adaptative problem solving skills. »
